Manokotak man dies in pickup crash

A 23-year-old Southwest Alaska man died in the crash of a pickup Monday.

Alaska State Troopers said Darren Nanalook of Manokotak died when his truck crashed in the village.

Troopers received a call on the crash shortly after 11:30 a.m. Officers from Dillingham investigated.

Local medical responders pronounced Nanalook dead at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled in Anchorage.

Manokotak is a village of nearly 500 people on the Igushik River about 25 miles southwest of Dillingham.
