Troopers: 38-year-old McGrath man killed in snowmachine accident

A 38-year-old McGrath man died Sunday morning after the snowmachine he was riding crashed, Alaska State Troopers say.

Christopher Woosley died of injuries he suffered when his snowmachine crashed at the intersection of Chinana Road and Joaquin Street in McGrath, troopers said in an online dispatch posted Monday.

The report of a single snowmachine collision with injuries came in around 5:30 a.m. Sunday, troopers said. An Alaska Wildlife Trooper got to the scene, saw Woosley on the side of the road near the crashed machine and started CPR.

He kept going until medics arrived and took Woosley to the McGrath clinic, where he died.

An investigation continues. The State Medical Examiner Office will conduct an autopsy.
