Meet the Alaska SeaLife Center’s newest pups

The Alaska SeaLife Center has two new young pups: A newborn sea otter and harbor seal, both thought to be abandoned.

The female harbor seal pup was found alone on a beach north of Homer on May 10, the center said in a statement Wednesday. Caretakers hope that in time she can be released in the same area she was found, the center said in a statement.

A days-old sea otter pup was discovered distressed and floating alone and face down in Prince William Sound by boaters, the center said.  Veterinarians are monitoring her pneumonia caused by inhaling sea water.

The pups are in "intensive care," according to the SeaLife Center.
