UAA Debate team hosts Yale for school sports debate

With cuts to public school funding looming in several big Alaska school districts, the University of Alaska Anchorage Seawolf Debate team will take on Yale University on March 20 to debate this statement: "No public funds should go to support competitive athletics in public education."

The event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in East High's auditorium, 4025 E. Northern Lights Blvd. Tickets are available online at www.uaatix.com. General Admission: $10 in advance, $15 at the door. Students with ID: $5 in advance, $10 at the door.

The event is sponsored by UAA Seawolf Debate Team, UAA College of Arts & Sciences, Alaska Airlines, UAA Department of Journalism & Communication, Hotel Captain Cook and UAA Concert Board.
