Nunaka Valley girls softball eliminated from playoff contention at West Regional

The Nunaka Valley girls delivered their highest run total at the Little League Softball West Regional in San Bernardino, California, on Monday, but their 12-6 loss to Lewiston, Idaho, eliminated them from playoff contention.

The girls, ages 11-12, fell to 0-3 entering their final pool-play game, set for Wednesday against a team from Montana. The Alaskans are playing in the five-team Pool B, and only the top two teams after four games of pool play, qualify for the semifinals in the 11-team tournament.

Nunaka Valley's Lexie Davis drove in two runs Monday, and Maykala Pickard, Aliysha Santana and Macie Schroeder each generated at RBI.

Khiana Smith scored two runs for Nunaka Valley. Scoring a single run each were Santana, Alexandra Ismael, Pese Matautia and Titi Matautia
