West 8, East 1

Ely Neslund deprived West of a shutout Tuesday in Cook Inlet Conference tennis action, securing East's only victory in an 8-1 loss to the Eagles.

Neslund triumphed 6-1, 6-0 in a boys singles match. West dominated every other match and didn't drop a game in three of its eight wins.

Service 7, Eagle River 2

The Service tennis team won all five doubles matches Tuesday to post a 7-2 CIC victory over Eagle River.

Aiden Moon and Matt Stone led the way for the Cougars by holding their boys doubles opponent scoreless for a straight-set victory.

Dimond 5, South 4

Dimond pulled out a 5-4 Cook Inlet Conference win over South in a Tuesday afternoon meet that required tiebreakers to decide three of the nine matches.

South won all three of the tiebreakers, including the one that decided the No. 1 girls singles match, where South's Tyanna Baker outlasted Dimond's Tami Suenram 6-4, 6-7 (5), 13-11.

Chugiak 9, Bartlett 0

Chugiak won seven of nine matches by forfeit Tuesday in a 9-0 CIC tennis win over Bartlett.

Carrie Cook outdueled Maren Chadwick in the only singles match played, and Amanda Huntzinger and Izzy LaRue won the only doubles match.

Bartlett forfeited everything else because most of its players hadn't been to the required number of practices to be eligible.
