Troopers: Suspect sought after armed robbery in Wasilla

Alaska State Troopers said Tuesday they were looking for a man who held up a pharmacy in Wasilla and fled with a bag of prescription medication.

Around 7:40 p.m. Monday, troopers responded to report of an armed robbery at Geneva Woods Pharmacy off North Seward Meridian Parkway. A man had forced entry through the building's back door. Inside, a pharmacist was preparing to close the business for the night, according to a trooper dispatch posted online.

The man had a firearm and forced the pharmacist to fill up "a large tote" with all of the controlled prescription medication. The pharmacist was not harmed, the dispatch said.

A description of the suspect was not immediately available. Troopers are asking anyone with information on the robbery to call 907-745-2131 or Crime Stoppers at 907-745-3333.
