Man arrested for DUI after driving to trooper station to report assault

Two Kenai Peninsula residents are facing charges after Alaska State Troopers say an intoxicated man drove to the local trooper post to report an assault.

On Wednesday, 24-year-old Joseph Aho of Kenai drunkenly drove to the Soldotna trooper office to report that Michael Dean, 33, had assaulted him two hours earlier while they were at Dean's house, trooper spokesperson Timothy Despain said.

Aho had also driven elsewhere before heading to the trooper office, Despain added.

Dean was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault. Aho was charged with driving while intoxicated.

Each man's bail was set at $500, online court records show. Both were taken to Wildwood Pretrial facility, troopers said.
