CIA boys, girls to play for Peninsula Conference titles

Seldovia and Cook Inlet Academy will play for the boys championship Friday night in the Class 1A Peninsula Conference tournament at Lumen Christi School in Anchorage.

Seldovia beat Ninilchik 51-43 in one of Thursday's semifinals. CIA held off Nikolaevsk 58-47 in overtime in the other one. Seldovia and CIA will play at 6:30 p.m. Friday, with the winner clinching a berth in the Class 1A state tournament March 14-18 in Anchorage.

The girls championship will be decided at 8 p.m. Friday when CIA and Nikolaevsk meet.

The CIA girls advanced with a 38-22 semifinal win over Birchwood Christian, and Nikolaevsk advanced with a 55-23 semifinal win over Lumen Christi.

On Saturday, second-place games will be held to determine the conference's second berths in the state tournament.
