Anchorage police say man guilty of harassment may have additional victims

Anchorage police asked the public Friday for additional information on a 32-year-old man who admitted to "having inappropriate contact" with girls at a child care program where he worked between 1999 and 2014.

In April, Adam Wilkinson pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree harassment. Three other harassment charges were dismissed, according to court records.

Police believe Wilkinson could have additional victims, said Renee Oistad, police spokeswoman.

Wilkinson had worked at the Child Watch program at the Anchor Lutheran School in South Anchorage, police said. According to the school's website, the program serves children ages 6 to 12 before and after school.

Oistad said that Detective Chris Thomas with APD's Special Victims Unit has asked anyone with information on Wilkinson's conduct with children to call 786-2628.

"Detective Thomas just wants to make sure he has investigated every angle on this," Oistad said.
