San Diego wins seventh place at Shootout

In a battle between winless teams, San Diego beat Drexel 62-59 Saturday to break into the win column and finish seventh in the GCI Great Alaska Shootout.

The Toreros got 14 points from Marcus Harris and San Diego (1-5) led the entire second half but Drexel (0-6) stayed within reach the whole time. San Diego's biggest lead was eights points early and seven points with six minutes left.

Brett Bailey hit a pair of free throws with three seconds left to give the winners a five-point edge, allowing San Diego to survive Drexel's final effort -- a missed 3-pointer by Tavon Allen, which Sammy Mojica tipped in for the final three-point margin.

Mojica finished with a game-high 15 points. Allen and Rashann London each scored 10 and Kazembe Abif provided eight points and 11 rebounds for Drexel (0-6).

Duda Sanadze led San Diego (1-5) with 12 points and seven rebounds. Jito Kok added 10 points and three blocks.
