UAA senior guard Brian McGill, coming off consecutive performances in which he scored more than 30 points and was perfect from the free-throw line, on Monday was named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference's men's basketball Player of the Week for the third time in his career.
McGill delivered a career-high 34 points Saturday in an 86-66 GNAC win at Simon Fraser and 31 points in Thursday's 108-105 double-overtime league win at Western Washington.
McGill made all 11 of his free throws against Simon Fraser and a school-record 15 of 15 against Western Washington. He is averaging 17.9 points per game.
Against Western Washington, McGill did not commit a turnover in his 47 minutes of playing time.
UAA (18-7, 11-3 GNAC) sits second in the 11-team conference and is in the midst of four games in eight days.
The Seawolves on Tuesday visit Montana State-Billings (8-14, 5-9 GNAC) and Thursday entertain UAF (16-6, 10-4 GNAC) at the Alaska Airlines Center.
