What's happening in Anchorage: Billie Holiday, The Moth and burlesque

Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill

Anchorage Community Theatre brings you a musical about Billie Holiday's last performance at Emerson's Bar and Grill. Thursday-Sunday starting Feb. 4-19. SHEL

Indie folk band SHEL, The Underground Dance Company and The Super Saturated Sugar Strings will perform for a night of celebration in conjunction with the Gynecologic Cancer Awareness and Arts of Healing weekend, Feb. 3-5 (for a full list of events, see leteverywomanknow.org). The Moth

If you're into Arctic Entries, an event where Alaskans from all walks of life tell their favorite stories, then you might want to check out one of its inspirations, The Moth. This show began as a small gathering on a porch in Georgia and grew to a national radio program, a weekly top 10 podcast and road tour. Highlights include exhibits from Katherine Coons at International Gallery of Contemporary Art and a display of railroad art at the historic train depot. There's the downtown circuit, of course, but also some interesting exhibits happening in midtown. Generally, the receptions are tonight from 6-8 p.m., but be sure to check out our list.

Jazz fusion

Free tax preparation

Soup'r Bowl
