Where to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Anchorage

Irish music and dance — Celebrate St. Patrick's Day and the beginning of spring with Wings to Fly, The Irish Dance Academy of Alaska, The Northern Lights Celtic Dancers, soloists Philip Price, Dawn Berg, Terri Mayeur, Rebecca Wolverton, Cillian McDonough and Beth Margeson. St. Patrick's Day ceili — The Irish Culture Collective is putting on a family-friendly St. Patrick's Day celebration with Irish music, dance and songs. Dance instruction is given for all traditional dances and there's no partner necessary. 6:30-11 p.m. Friday, Hard Rock Cafe, 415 E St. Free. (907-278-7637)

St. Patrick's at McGinley's Pub — There will be live traditional Irish music, drink specials, Irish eats, and giveaways all evening long. The music starts at noon with Crooked Road, then it's bag pipers at 3:30 p.m., Irish dance at 3:45 p.m., Carhartt Brothers at 4 p.m. more bag piping at 9 p.m. and the Whiskey Jacks starting at 9:30 p.m.

St. Paddy's Day Sixth and F Street Pub Crawl — Grab your map from Williwaw, Steamdot Bar or Blues Central, Flattop Pizza and Pool, Bootlegger's 8 Star Saloon or Humpy's and begin your pub crawl. Collect five stamps and fill out the map for a chance to win $500 cash, in addition to other cash prizes. Irish whiskey, car bombs and food specials will be available all day March 17. Baby Loves Disco — Join Williwaw for a family-friendly St. Patrick's Day dance party. Opportunities to win door prizes and goodie bags will be given at the door. DJ Spencer Lee and DJ Victamone will be playing music from '70s disco, '80s pop, '90s jams and today's hits. Green eggs and ham, juice and Cheerio bars will be available for kids to snack on, while the full bar will be open for parents to enjoy. $15 per ticket or $12.50 per ticket when you buy a family four pack. Adults and children require tickets, babies do not. 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Williwaw, 601 F St. $12.50-$15. (

St. Pat's at 49th State — Dress in green for the opportunity to win over $500 in prize giveaways. Cocktails, food specials, live music and special Bushmills Irish whiskey and 49th State's McCarthy Dry Irish Stout will be available all weekend long. 11-2 a.m. Friday-Saturday, 49th State Brewing Co., 717 W. St. Patrick's Day at Koot's — Ettinger will be on the North Stage, and Koot's has a fashion show from The Look that will kick off at 9 p.m. There will be contests all night with cash prizes, a special menu (including a Reuben egg roll) plenty of green beer and "green Jello wrestling." Oh, and bagpipers. 9 p.m. in the North Long Bar.
