Noise Brigade back in town
Back in 2015, pop-punk band Noise Brigade played a farewell show at Anchorage Community Works. Since moving to Portland the band has released two albums, "From the Mountains to the Sea" and "This is Fine," and a handful of singles. Alaska Vintage Snowmobile Show
Museum of Alaska Transportation and Industry celebrates the beauty of classic machinery in this pre-1985 snowmobile showcase. 11th annual Plein Air Weekend
The Plein Air Painters of Alaska present the 11th annual Plein Air Weekend with a portion of the proceeds to benefit Clare House. Beer & Bacon Festival
For the fifth year, the Beer & Bacon Festival brings together local brews and gourmet bacon dishes on the banks of picturesque Lake Hood. Attendees will enjoy live music from H3 while Alaska's premier brewers and chefs compete for finest brew or most delectable bacon dish. The festival will also feature a bacon-eating contest for the title of Bacon King or Queen, lawn games, vendor booths and more. Blackwater Railroad and Matt Hopper & the Roman Candles
Williwaw presents two local bands for a show that promises to be high-energy. Blackwater Railroad Company is a folk-rock group whose catalog is always expanding. Matt Hopper and the Roman Candles is the main project of Alaska musician Matt Hopper, who combines blues, country and psychedelic rock with a little help from a rotating lineup of other local musicians. $10. 8 p.m. Saturday, Williwaw, 609 F St. (williwawsocial.com)

'Intimate Letters'
Another installment of the Anchorage Chamber Music Festival's 2017 concert series, this time featuring the work of Leos Janacek and Franz Schubert. Musicians Christine Harada Li, Dainis Medjaniks, Alan Tilley, Andrew Francois, Nathaniel Pierce and Justin Bartlett will perform "String Quartet No. 2 (Intimate Letters)" and "String Quartet No. 15 in G Major." $25 general admission; $12 for students. 7:30-9:30 p.m. Monday, UAA Arts Building, Recital Hall, 3700 Alumni Drive. Agriculture Appreciation Day at the Farm
This free annual event has the atmosphere of a country fair with educational presentations, hayrides, animals and a number of family activities. There will be presentations on edible berries, small grain trials, building a hoop house and the new meatpacking process at Mike's Quality Meats. There will also be demonstrations of search and rescue dogs, spinning and weaving wool, a biomass gasifier and a cabbage stir-fry. Free. Noon-5 p.m. Thursday, Matanuska Experiment Farm, 1509 S.
