Coming up: Labor Day festival, last weekend of the Alaska State Fair

Alaska State Fair – final weekend

It's Labor Day weekend and a final chance to go check out the Alaska State Fair in Palmer. The weather forecast is looking more promising than last weekend, and what better way is there to round out the summer than by eating fair food, wander through vendors and exhibits and gawking at a record-breaking giant pumpkin? There's also an eclectic, high-caliber mix of performers on deck – including:

Indie/alt-rock outfit Bishop Briggs ("River," "Wild Horses") with lovelytheband at 7 p.m. Friday (Tickets $25-$35)

Country singer Luke Combs ( "Hurricane", "When It Rains It Pours") at 7 p.m. Saturday ($35-$55)

Grammy-nominated, New York Times best-selling stand-up comedian Jim Gaffigan 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday ($35-$95)

Lindsey Stirling, dance/electronica musician who made her mark on dancing while performing on violin, 3 p.m. Monday ($40-$75)
