Coming soon: Laughs, crafts and plenty of festive trees

2018 Alaska Festival of Trees — This fundraiser will raise money for Priceless Alaska and Chosen Alaska, two organizations that aid victims of human trafficking and foster kids, respectively. There will be 15 decorated trees with prize packages valued at $1,500-$4,000 that will be raffled off during the festival. Individuals are also able to vote for their favorite tree to win the People’s Choice Tree award in person at Dimond Center or online. Saturday until Sunday Dec. 9, Dimond Center, 800 E. Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley — The pay-what-you-can preview for this holiday performance will reinvent the world of Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice.” Mary Bennet, the bookish middle daughter of the Bennet family, finally steps out of her sisters’ shadows and finds her own romance. Holiday Craft Show and Book Fair at the Anchorage Museum — Crafted in Alaska is a juried handmade product and craft fair. There is also a ReadAlaska book fair that features Alaskan authors, illustrators and independent publishers. This event is perfect for those looking for handmade Alaskan holiday gifts. 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday, Anchorage Museum, 625 C St. (anchoragemuseum.org)

Kevin Hart — The Kevin Hart Irresponsible Tour comes to Anchorage for one night only. Comedian Kevin Hart is known for his first stand-up album “I’m a Grown Little Man” in 2006 and his subsequent stand-up tour for “Laugh at My Pain.” Hart has also appeared in movies like “Central Intelligence” and “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.” 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sullivan Arena, 1600 Gambell St. (ticketmaster.com)

Holiday Tree Lighting — The annual holiday lighting ceremony will include holiday music, free cookies and hot cocoa and festive performances. Santa and his reindeer will make an appearance. The East High Swing Choir will kick things off with a performance, followed by the Salvation Army Brass Band, Anchorage Concert Chorus and then the lighting ceremony itself. After the lighting has finished there will be opportunities to meet with Santa and watch performances by the Underground Dance Company. 5-7:30 p.m. Saturday, Town Square Park 544 W.
