Downtown

Anchorage Museum — Aslaug Magdalena Juliussen presents textile and sculpture installations in “Intersections.” On view through March 15. Alaskans and Salmon celebrate salmon culture in Alaska in its many forms, from commercial, subsistence and sport fishing to processing, preserving and eating. On view through Jan. 19. “What Why How We Eat” is an exhibition and accompanying series of public programs that look at how Alaskans connect and share through food, using themes ranging from recipes and the home kitchen to self-reliance and subsistence. Hotel Captain Cook — Over 25 international artists will have paintings on view in “Art Has No Boundaries.” Live music at reception by the SpeNerds. Reception 5:30-10 p.m. On view through January. (939 W. Fifth Ave)

International Gallery of Contemporary Art — “The World’s Forgotten Boy” by Stephen Gray is an exploration of the flexible boundaries between innocence and maturity in the tradition of comic grotesque. Reception 5-8 p.m. On view through January. (427 D St)

Snow City Cafe — “Cirque de Macabre” by E.M. Remme and J.T. Bryant explores the American circus in the early 20th century through oil paintings and airbrushed mediums. Reception 5:30-8:30 p.m. (1034 W. Fourth Ave.)

Zip Kombucha — Lynn Dewey will be displaying her abstract ice photography. The reception is also a birthday celebration and a 25th anniversary bash for her and her husband. Reception 5-8 p.m. (3404 Arctic Blvd.)
