AK Quarantunes: Maeve & Quinn, ‘Green was the Color’

Maris and Bryce O’Tierney, who perform as Maeve & Quinn, were singing and playing together long before they graduated from Anchorage’s South High. Now located in Chicago, the twin sisters have carried their Alaska roots to the Windy City.

The sisters are accomplished both as vocalists and instrumentalists, where they often perform playing piano and guitar. And their music often focuses on their Irish heritage, like “Green was the Color,” which brings a modern sensibility to a traditional form.

In 2018, the duo released “Something overheard, something overhead” a six-song album. They are making a name for themselves in Chicago, adding their voices to perform “Stay Home Chicago,” a twist on the classic “Sweet Home Chicago.”
