Portugal. The Man set for second show at Alaska State Fair

Alaska-rooted band Portugal. The Man will play a second show as part of the Alaska State Fair’s 2021 entertainment lineup.

The Grammy-winning group had initially been booked to play only Aug. 21, but the fair said it added the second date due to tremendous demand. The added performance is set for the fair’s opening night, Aug. 20, with both shows starting at 7 p.m.

Limited tickets remain for the Aug. 21 show.

Three of the band’s members hail from Wasilla. The group also played the 2015 fair.

“We spent our childhoods going to the fair. Those memories are etched in our minds and we look forward to playing for our fellow Alaskans. We will see you in the funnel cakes line!” said bassist Zach Carothers in a media release from the fair.

Tickets for the show range from $39 to $89 and can be purchased at the fair website, alaskastatefair.org.
