Singer Jewel uninjured in tour bus fire

Pop-folk singer Jewel said over the weekend that her tour bus caught fire in a hotel parking lot but no one was injured and a “hero” driver proved instrumental.

“We had a full bus fire,” the 48-year-old “Who Will Save Your Soul” singer said Saturday on TikTok. “Nobody was hurt. It happened on an off day in the parking lot of a hotel.”

Based on her posting’s hashtags, the fire was due to electrical issues. In words that flash on the screen in her TikTok video, Jewel credits the fire department for coming to the rescue and the bus driver for successfully retrieving a vintage guitar and amp that were in the vehicle.

“All’s well that ends well, but how about this bulls—t?” she asked.

A TikTok user who goes by Kayleebollinger52 posted a message boasting that the unidentified bus driver is her father.

“He’s such a great guy!!!!” Jewel responded. “The band loves him!”

The singer, born in Alaska by the name Jewel Kilcher, is on the road promoting her new album “Freewheelin’ Woman” with bands including Train and Blues Traveler.

It’s unclear where the fire occurred, but she posted video of a performance in Colorado over the weekend where she was joined onstage by her 11-year-old-son, Kase.

“Touring, buses, bands, new cities, new sites — he is down for it!” Jewel wrote alongside that video.
