Need joins the University of Alaska Foundation

The University of Alaska Foundation has announced that Harry W. Need IV, MPA, CFRE has been hired as the director of gift planning. This new position expands UA Foundation's service to philanthropic individuals and organizations seeking to create legacy or complex gifts for the University of Alaska. Need joins UA with seven years of development experience. Most recently, he served as a development officer responsible for facilitating major gifts to the University of Alaska Anchorage's College of Arts and Sciences.

He graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2001, completed Leadership Anchorage in 2008, and earned an MPA with dual emphases in policy analysis and public management from UAA in 2013. He earned a fundraising executive certification through CFRE International in 2013 and was recognized as a "Top Forty under 40" professional by the AK Journal of Commerce in 2014.

Need also serves his community as the engagement chair for the Alaska chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, as a trustee and patroller for the Denali Ski Patrol at Arctic Valley, and as the vice president for the Fairview Community Council.
