According to a police press release, police responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Brown Jug Liquor store at 1555 Bragaw St. late Sunday.

Police said two males wearing hoodies that concealed their faces were reported entering the liquor store and demanding money from the single employee operating the register.

According to police, the store employee took out a gun and fired multiple rounds at the suspects as they fled the store. The suspects left in a vehicle, possibly an SUV, according to police.

No injuries were reported and no arrests or charges were made as of Monday morning.

The robbery is the latest in a series of armed robberies in Anchorage. Six robberies last week, including several at other liquor stores, prompted Anchorage police to shut down online police scanner traffic Wednesday.

Anchorage police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro said in a text message Monday that it wasn't clear if the other robberies were related.

Police encouraged anyone with information on the robbery to contact Crimestoppers at 561-STOP or go online to
