Two men were arrested after a fight early Saturday morning ended in a stabbing, police said.

Just after 5:30 a.m., police responded to a medical call at a home on the 400 block of Irwin Street in Northeast Anchorage.

An investigation revealed that a fight had taken place between two men at the home, and one of the men had been stabbed, police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro said in a statement.

Police arrested James Hennings, 19, on suspicion of assault, Castro said.

The other man, Christopher Gillespie, 20, was also arrested on suspicion of assault after being treated at a hospital for stab wounds, Castro said. Police determined that during the episode, Gillespie assaulted a female who tried to stop the fight, Castro said.
