Alaska State Troopers are looking for two men in Kodiak who reportedly impersonated police officers on Saturday night and fired a pistol when a juvenile questioned whether they were actually law enforcement officers.

The Kodiak Police Department and Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of shots fired at Mill Bay Beach in Kodiak just before midnight on Saturday, troopers write.

According to troopers, two men dressed in black and wearing ski masks approached a 17-year-old male, claiming they were police officers and demanding the minor identify himself.

When the minor questioned whether they were law enforcement officers, one of the men pulled out a pistol and fired the weapon, troopers said.

The two men fled the scene. The minor was uninjured.

Troopers are asking anyone with information to call 907-486-4121 or submit a tip anonymously through Kodiak Crime Stoppers online at 907-486-3113.
