American alt-country, folk-rock singer Brandi Carlile was announced Friday as the headline act for this year's summer music festival, Salmonstock.
Carlile is a critically acclaimed singer-songwriter who built her career performing in Seattle's many music clubs. She broke out in 2004 when she joined Columbia Records and released her debut self-titled album "Brandi Carlile."
Since 2004, Carlile has generated an impressive fan base both nationally and in Alaska. Carlile last visited Alaska in July of 2012, when she performed at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts in Anchorage.
Salmonstock, a three-day music festival, takes place at the Kenai Peninsula Fairgrounds in Ninilchik Aug. 2-4. This year, the festival will feature four stages and more than 50 national and local acts. Carlile and her band will perform on the second day of the festival, Saturday, Aug. 3.
Friday, is the last day to purchase discounted "earlybird" festival tickets, which include a three-day pass for $99 or a two-day pass for $85. Tickets are available for purchase online.
After Friday, all tickets, including single-day passes, will be sold online through Aug. 1. Any remaining tickets will be available at the event.
Additional Salmonstock national headliners include Trampled by Turtles, The Soul Rebels, Peter Rowan, Great American Taxi, Marty Dread, The Big Wu, Head for the Hills, Larry Keel & Natural Bridge, Moonalice, DeadPhish Orchestra, and Si Kahn.
