Anchorage/Mat-Su delinquencies drop again

The foreclosure and mortgage-loan delinquency rates for Anchorage and the Mat-Su continued to drop in June while the loan foreclosure rate remained flat at just less than 1 percent, according to CoreLogic, a California company that tracks real estate nationally. The local delinquency and foreclosure rates remain far below the national rates.

The percentage of Anchorage/Mat-Su home loans in which the borrower is at least 90 days late or delinquent on the payment totaled 2.94 percent in June. The rate has been dropping since peaking at 3.08 percent in January and February, CoreLogic said. The rate was 2.42 percent in June of last year, however.

The national delinquency rate was 8.05 percent in June, CoreLogic said.

The Anchorage/Mat-Su foreclosure rate for June was 0.9 percent of home loans. The rate has been stuck around that percentage for a year, CoreLogic data shows. The national foreclosure rate was 3.1 percent of loans in June.
