Second episode of 'Top Chef' filmed in Alaska capital airs Wednesday

Alaska foodies can tune in to Bravo Wednesday night to watch the second "Top Chef" episode of two filmed in Juneau, Alaska's capital city, in which three contestants face off in a culinary finale featuring Alaskan-themed ingredients.

Top Chef: Seattle is in its 10th season for Bravo. Twenty-one contestants – called "cheftestants" – compete for the title of Top Chef, which includes prizes of a feature in a gourmet food magazine, a showcase at a food-and-wine event in Aspen, Colo., and, of course, a cash prize to the tune of $125,000.

The show was filmed at different locations around Alaska's capital city, the Juneau Empire reports, including Mendenhall Glacier and the governor's house.

Last week's episode, "Kings of Alaska", featured the final four contestants competing in a culinary showdown using king crab and later making meals that included each chef's take on salmon and sourdough.

In this week's episode, titled "Glacial Gourmand," judges Emeril Lagasse, Wolfgang Puck, Gail Simmons, Tom Colicchio and host Padma Lakshmi are joined by guest judge Roy Choi. The first part of the show will test the chefs with what Bravo calls the "adventure of a lifetime," and a glacial-theme challenge. For the second part of the show, where contestants compete in the Elimination Challenge, "Emeril and award-winning chef, Roy Choi, cook an emotional meal to set the tone for the cheftestants," according to Bravo. The final three are competing to move on to the final rounds in Los Angeles.

According to local cable listings, the show airs from 9–10 p.m. on Bravo. And you can catch last week's episode beforehand, at 8 p.m.
