Photos: C-130 goes in for new paint job at JBER

A 1964 C-130E cargo plane is moved at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016. The retired display plane is being moved to a hangar, where it will be sanded down and repainted from the Vietnam War-era paint scheme to combat gray. The plane will then be returned to its usual spot in Heritage Park on Sijan Avenue on the base. The C-130E was stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base from 1975 to 1985 and then was stationed at Ramstein Air Base in Germany. The plane was flown to Elmendorf in 2004, when it was decommissioned and put on display.
