VIDEO: Silver Jackson's 'The Perfect Mistake' (mature content)

Each week Alaska Dispatch News is featuring a different music video from an Alaska artist. Want to suggest a video? Contact the multimedia team at photo@alaskadispatch.com.

Silver Jackson (Nicholas Galanin) of Sitka and collaborators OCnotes and Iska Daaf created a haunting song and an equally haunting music video for the piece.

The video by Loaded Pictures took about five days to shoot in the woods around Sitka. Galanin and Dhaaf recorded the music for "The Perfect Mistake" while Dhaaf was in town for the 10th annual Homeskillet music festival. From there OCnotes took the sounds and created the final version, which can be heard on the album "Starry Skies Opened Eyes."

Galanin says of the song, "There are many layers to the context of the song from each collaborators' perspectives. For me the song is a love song. A failed love song too. The video captures this beautifully; it also captures Southeast Alaska landscape, something that definitely inspires my creative work."
