Wisconsin driver shoots children who threw snowballs at car, police say

A winter wonderland in Milwaukee turned violent Saturday when an enraged motorist took aim and fired at a group of kids throwing snowballs at passing cars.

Two children in the group were shot, according to the Milwaukee police. One of the snowballs hit a white Toyota, and the driver fired shots at the group, hitting a 13-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl.

According to a series of tweets posted by the Milwaukee police, the kids were found with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and transported to a hospital after receiving first aid treatment from officers.

The girl was shot twice and the boy was shot once. Both are expected to recover, according to a local ABC affiliate.

A witness described hearing at least five gunshots. Neither a description of the driver or their vehicle has been released, but the police put out a call for tips from the public.
