On the television dating show, Millionaire Matchmaker, he boasted about his private jet, Florida mansion and his $400million wealth, but Michael Prozer was a conman - and it was all a facade.
The Huffington Post reported that the so-called millionaire appeared on the love-match show to convince the people he had robbed that he was in fact a geniune millionaire.
Prozer, who pleaded guilty in a federal court to bank fraud charges, was sentenced yesterday to eight years jail.
The charges included conspiracy and wire, bank and mail fraud.
Tampa Bay Online reported the 38-year-old admitted to swindling a now-defunct Georgia bank, Park Avenue Bank, out of a $3 million loan that he never repaid.
According to Tampa Bay Online, when he appeared on Millionaire Matchmaker, the father of two claimed to be worth around $400 million, which he said he earned as the creator of Xchange Agent Inc., an online payment service in South America and Europe.
Prozer flew his TV date to his mansion in Florida in his private jet, but it has now emerged that they did not legally own them, and they had been propped up by money he had swindled.
