'Toxic tush' illegal butt doctor in Miami pleads guilty, will serve 1 year in prison

A Miami Gardens transgender woman who drew national headlines for reportedly injecting Fix-a-Flat, Super Glue and mineral oil into the rear ends of women during illegal cosmetic surgeries will serve one year in prison.

Ron Oneal Morris, 32, on Thursday accepted the plea deal of 366 days in prison for one count of the illegal practice of healthcare. She'll surrender on Jan. 7.

The plea deal came four months after a Miami-Dade judge rejected a plea deal that would have landed Morris in jail for 180 days, plus five years' probation.

But Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Ellen Sue Venzer rejected the deal, saying the sentence was too light.

The "toxic tush" case drew widespread attention after images emerged of Morris herself, her posterior swollen and misshapen.

Prosecutors say the botched operations left two women ill and disfigured. Morris is facing more charges in Broward County, including a manslaughter count after one victim died after an operation.

The Miami-Dade plea deal spares the victims, sensitive about the notoriety of the case, from having to testify in open court, according to prosecutors.

Prosecutors on Thursday stressed they never were able to determine exactly what substance Morris used in injecting the women.

"I think the media picked up on key word and ran with it," her lawyer, Michael Mier, told the court. "There was no evidence of Fix-a-Flat or Super Glue."
