Mueller investigation needs to continue to its conclusion

The Robert Mueller investigation of Russian meddling in our election and possible collusion from American citizens needs to continue to conclusion. I would like to hear the opinion of our elected representatives to Congress on this matter, especially Don Young who is up for re-election. I also would like to hear from his opponents.

Proposition 1 wrongs a right

I saw the most ridiculous commercial on TV last night, paid for by Proposition 1 supporters. They have to lie because they can't win a debate if they're honest. The facts are simple: Proposition 1 will make Anchorage less safe.

The city of Anchorage has a Municipal Code that defines gender identity as being established by medical history, consistent and uniform assertion of the gender identity, or evidence that the gender identity is sincerely held and core to a person's gender-related self-identity, and not being asserted for an improper purpose. Is it so hard to believe that we are all different, we all want to be safe, and we all want to be treated with respect?

Most propositions go on the ballot to right a wrong. A vote for Proposition 1 wrongs a right. Vote no on Proposition 1.

Problems with mail-in ballots

I just received my mail-in ballot today. I am glad that the city is saving money by not having to open all the polling places. I did, however, notice a couple of things that bother me. The return envelope needs a stamp. I feel that it should have been pre-paid. With email and bill pay by computer, how many people have stamps?

This brought on another thought. When I finished my ballot I saw that I had to sign the return envelope! This really bothers me as then my vote is not secret. While all of the poll workers are honest and honorable people it only takes one to mess with people and their vote. I think the city needs to revisit mail-in ballot procedures and correct these issues, or is this just an underhanded way to keep people from voting? I am sorry for the last bit, but I am a child of the '60s and know there was a smoking gun on the grassy knoll.
