Letters to the Editor

Letter: America is irreparably divided

A thought went through my mind after reading Charles Wohlforth's article in the May 18 edition of the ADN: This must be about where we were in 1861, just before the attack on Fort Sumter.

I don't understand why the left can't see its extreme social change agenda is driving a wedge between what used to be just Americans having different opinions on how to run the country. After all, we have a guidebook on it — the Constitution. Now there are calls to change it.

Understand this: I will never give up any of my God-given rights, and that includes any attempt at just nipping at the edges. If that offends Mr. Wohlforth's college-educated sensibilities, I suppose that the end is written on the wind, or "Gone With the Wind."
