Letter: West Anchorage should support Quinn-Davidson

Austin Quinn-Davidson is committed to our community and is the best Assembly candidate to represent West Anchorage. In the short time I have served on the Municipality's Budget Advisory Commission with Austin, I have admired her collaborative approach and her commitment to finding common ground. Austin has brought new focus to tackling our city's fiscal sustainability and is getting things done.

I know firsthand how difficult it can be to understand and advocate for the complex needs of our changing city. I have served on my local community council and have focused on bringing new voices and innovation to the table. Anchorage needs safe but vibrant neighborhoods, a diversified local economy and an education system that will be the foundation for Alaska's future. I know Austin shares many of those perspectives, and she will take a fresh and pragmatic approach in her service.

In a time when the world seems so polarized and rhetoric is so toxic, Anchorage needs level-headed leadership that respects all members of the community. We need someone who will address the problems and challenges our city faces today, while anticipating the needs of our city's future tomorrow. We need someone like Austin to represent West Anchorage on the Assembly.
