Letter: Alaska Republicans must demand Trump’s resignation

The deafening silence of Alaska Republicans regarding President Donald Trump's historic incompetence must end. Spectacular revelations by an anonymous senior Trump official in a New York Times op-ed confirm the obvious — that Trump is dangerously unfit for office.

Even his cabinet knows it, but apparently do not have the courage to invoke Article 25 of the Constitution and remove him from office. The details revealed in the Times op-ed compare to those from "Deep Throat" Mark Felt, Associate Director of the FBI, when he secretly spilled the beans on President Richard Nixon's Watergate fiasco in 1972.

Most have known of such incompetence in Trump for years, but now, enough is enough. It is time for Alaska Republicans to stand up for country and publicly demand the president's resignation or impeachment. Every day that passes now without Alaska Republicans standing up to this historic disgrace will further secure their complicity in the greatest fraud ever perpetrated in our nation's history. This includes the entire Alaska congressional delegation, our current governor and Republican legislative leaders, all of whom have placed the nation at extreme risk in remaining silent on this grave matter in order to continue receiving policy favors from the Trump administration.
