Letter: Allegations Should disqualify Kavanaugh

In my lifetime, I have known many moral, honorable and scrupulously honest conservatives. My own father is the first who comes to mind. So why is it that lately, the Republican Party keeps offering up, for the very highest and most powerful positions of our country, men who have committed crimes against girls and women? A 17-year-old boy who holds a 15-year-old girl against her will, molesting and nearly smothering her, even with the excuse of being in a state of drunkenness, is simply not a person who possesses an innate sense of right and wrong.

Brett Kavanaugh needs to withdraw himself from consideration, and if he is unable to give up that lofty dream himself, then the Senate needs to quickly get rid of him. At least for this one esteemed institution, this lifetime appointment to the highest moral authority of our land, can we not have someone worthy of the position?
