Letter: Senators should oppose Kavanaugh confirmation

President Donald Trump is an unindicted co-conspirator in two felonies. Five of his campaign staff have been convicted of felonies. He should not be given another Supreme Court appointment until the Mueller investigation is finished.

If Sens. Dan Sullivan and Lisa Murkowski think a president shouldn't be able to appoint a Supreme Court justice in his or her final year, then they should withhold Trump's right to appoint one while under federal investigation and while accused of multiple felonies. Do they care about truth and democracy, or just their own partisan ideology?

Alaska's senators must stand up for what is right. We desperately need real leadership in this country.
