Letter: SB 91 repeal doesn’t make sense

I am writing this about our governor’s policy and proposed budget. I wonder if his supporters are thinking, “Well, maybe I shouldn’t have voted for him.” I am a Bill Walker fan and an undeclared voter. I vote both Republican and Democratic in the general elections. I personally think Gov. Mike Dunleavy got in office with the promise of money — bribery, in my opinion.

And he hasn’t done what he said he’d do. He has the worst budget proposal I have ever seen in my voting history. The repeal of Senate Bill 91 will do no good for anyone. I agree it has flaws and needs editing, but taking two steps back instead of fixing the issues and moving forward is not the solution.

Every day, people get out of jails and prisons. Unless given life sentences, one day everyone will have their day of freedom. Long prison sentences for nonviolent offenses makes them violent, and antisocial behavior is not uncommon.
