Letters to the Editor

Letter: Let’s talk about education funding

When I write a letter to the the editor, it is not flowery and eloquent. I do not write and rewrite, or pull out a thesaurus. My thoughts are from my heart and gut. So I ask this simple question: Why are elected Republican officials — Gov. Mike Dunleavy, President Donald Trump and so forth — so afraid of educated voters? They always want to cut education first or push for private charter schools. I’m fascinated by this. I would love to see Gov. Dunleavy have a town hall with University of Alaska Anchorage and Anchorage School District educators. Tough talk is easy, governor. Walk the walk.
