Our Republican governor, our not-so-“conservative” Republican-led Senate, and House Minority Republicans want to give away $3,000 to every Alaskan for no logical reason! Alaska’s Democrats and independents in the State House of Representatives want to “save money” by giving a smaller Permanent Fund dividend and balancing Alaska’s budget for our next fiscal year.
What is wrong with this picture? Are these Republicans trying to legally buy votes for their next election? Seems like they are trying to turn Alaska into a welfare state! Whatever happened to our strong, independent pioneers, who didn’t need free money from the state to thrive and make a living here?
