Letters to the Editor

Letter: Thanks for good care

I am writing this to express my thanks, yet again, to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center for all the help they consistently offer us veterans. In the 21 years of receiving care from the facility here in Anchorage, I have always received excellent care.

While waiting in the hallway for my ride this afternoon, I sat and just observed. It was almost quitting time. No one seemed to have the, “I can’t wait to get out of here” look on their faces. Then I remembered a call I had to make before leaving. I had to wait a while on hold. When the woman answered, her voice communicated genuine care.

I thought, how do these people do it? How do they consistently show concern, no matter how late in the day or how busy they are? They really treat us well.

I am a proud veteran of the Navy and the Army. I am so proud to be able to say that I get my health care from the VAMC.
