Letters to the Editor

Letter: Thanks to APFC

For all the debate about the size of the Permanent Fund dividend and state operating budget, it’s easy to lose track of this fact: The Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation itself, manager of the Permanent Fund, has served the state extremely well during the past several years, beating its own return objective of inflation plus 5%, as well as several financial industry benchmarks.

We enjoy the luxury of debating the size of the PFD only because of the fund’s consistent solid performance. Thank you to the staff and trustees of APFC for generating value for the state even in the midst of bitter politics.
