I was dismayed to read Terry Casdorph’s letter to the editor (Sunday, Sept. 8) advocating we elect our president by national popular vote. The Founding Fathers wrote the Electoral College into the Constitution to prevent the densely populated cities running roughshod over the less populated rural areas.
To eliminate the Electoral College would mean the populations of New York and California would elect the president and the rest of us would have no voice in it.
