Letter: Republicans for Russia

Quite a while ago, I wrote a letter that the GOP stood for “Good Old Putin.” This was mostly in jest, but after hearing the cofounders of Fusion GPS interview with Glynn Simpson and Peter Frisch, I no longer think this. Combined with other facts easily available to the average citizen, I am now officially afraid for the democracy of the United States.

I believe Fox News is a Russian propaganda machine; too bad free speech protects Putin. I wrote a letter to Sen. Dan Sullivan on when it is appropriate for a citizen who swore an oath to defend the Constitution to act; for the first time, I received a response back that he would be an independent juror if Trump was impeached, but never answered my question.

I now think that the entire GOP, from Mitch McConnell to Dan Sullivan, would deliver a not-guilty verdict if impeachment gets to the Senate. Party before county. We are in for some bad times in the near future. Truth be damned. The sad thing is that we are doing this to ourselves. Corruption rules and the regular citizens will lose, as is typical in the historical record.
