Letter: Extravagant promises

Well, with the reopening of the economy, President Donald Trump is making some more of his extravagant promises. In 1,170 days, Trump has made 18,000 explicitly false or misleading claims. In the vernacular, call them lies.

With more than 90,000 deaths and the economy in tatters, he thinks everything is going to be hunky-dory by his election. His magical thinking is getting people killed. Now he say’s he built the greatest economy in U.S. history; facts and statistics prove him wrong. A clue to this comes from his advisor Bryan Lanza. He says, “the good news is that president doesn’t give a rip about what economists think.” Trump is a legend in his own mind. Now is the time to ask Trump’s enablers, Sens. Dan Sullivan and Lisa Murkowski, as well as Rep. Don Young, whether they give a “rip” what economists say.
