Letter: Keep Alaska beautiful

Natural Alaska and human Alaska are synced in transition, transition from one mode to another. Just as the land pivots from spring to summer, we the people are shifting from hunker-down to venture out.

If you are one of those many who are in between the pause of stay-in-place and the pace of business as usual, and you’re in need of something to do, let me suggest getting out and cleaning up a bit of our wonderful state. In addition to everything else, COVID-19 has disrupted the usually coordinated effort to clear a winter’s trash from our roadsides, lawns, and fields.

There’s plenty of room to keep safe, and there’s plenty to do. Plus, the Anchorage dump is offering online a free disposal pass. Whether you’re red, blue or purple in outlook, why not be green together and help to keep Alaska beautiful?
