Letter: Noise pollution

I can’t be the only one who’s been sitting at home enjoying dinner with family, a nice conversation with friends or just relaxing with a proverbial page-turning book when I was suddenly interrupted by an obnoxiously loud muffler on a car and/or motorcycle.

While I admire our law enforcement offers and am fully aware that this isn’t a priority, especially at this point in history, I would greatly appreciate the noise abatement law being enforced.

I took the four-month public police academy class last year. It was awesome! To reiterate, I know that there are many more issues to deal with during a reduced staffing crisis. However, I am also keenly aware of how a simple traffic stop can yield great results. Sometimes drugs are found. Other times, the driver may be impaired.

So, thank you to the brave and often overlooked officers of the Anchorage Police Department, Alaska State Troopers and the local and statewide officers. I know that I’m not alone in thanking you for all that you. Keep up the great work.
