Letter: Bad leadership is hurting America

Bad leadership is destroying democracy, freedom and America. It starts with immorality. It’s worsened by incompetence.

Alaska’s spineless, cowardly congressional delegation prioritizes party over country. Rep. Don Young votes the party line without ever listening to Alaskans or congressional testimony. Sen. Dan Sullivan surrenders his vote to Mitch McConnell, who steers PAC dollars like Vladimir Putin distributes Russia’s resources. And Sen. Lisa Murkowski harrumphs that she won’t stand for a lot of things, like President Donald Trump trusting Putin over our own intelligence agencies. She must sit a lot. Also, what did any of them do about Trump’s defaming dead soldiers as 'losers" and “suckers”?

The immorality is incomprehensible, but the ineptness is deadly and carcinogenic. More than 215,000 Americans are dead. Internationally, Trump failed to denuclearize North Korea and Iran, surrendered the Kurds and the Middle East to Russia and Iran, and abdicated much of Asia and Africa to China.  Trump flirts mindlessly with despots around the world. Too bad he ignores our allies. And where is his massive infrastructure bill? Did Mexico pay for the wall? Where is his much-promised new health care plan? Is appointing an extremist justice more important than ending the pandemic and fixing the economy?

By the way, Republicans, did you have a primary this year? Conservatives, do you stand for trade wars and multitrillion-dollar deficits? Christians, do you believe in ignoring the seven deadly sins?

The swamp is now a cesspool.  If you like the stench, keep voting for the same worthless, but rich, corrupt politicians.
